Prof.Ulrike Gayh

SRH University

Ulrike Gayh is professor for environmental and process engineering and is the dean of the Master ´s program in Water Technology at the School of Technology and Architecture of the SRH University. She conducts international research activities in the field of water technology solutions for the prevention and reduction of local and regional water conflicts. Together with colleagues from the University of Novi Sad, she established the initiative Democratia-Aqua-Technica which is now a global network dealing with the question of innovative technical concepts for sustainable water resource management. Within the frame of sustainable water resource management the topics are focusing on water pollution and water quality as well as environmental education. Prof. Gayh is also working with researchers in the field of data science/artificial intelligence on the potential applications of AI-supported tools for water monitoring and water management. She works in teaching and research on the topics of micropollutants and processes for the treatment and purification of contaminated water, among other things. With a focus on natural-based treatment processes Prof. Gayh teaches and researches, for example, on constructed wetlands. She has further research interests in the areas of wastewater management, water protection and the use of digital tools in water management.Furthermore, she is active in educating kids and raising their awareness about the importance of the resource of water.

Prof. Shengqi Guo

Hebei University of Technology


Sheng-Qi Guo obtained his Ph.D. in Science from Nankai University in 2015. He then conducted postdoctoral research at Tianjin University of Technology. In 2018, he joined the School of Energy and Environmental Engineering at Hebei University of Technology, where he currently serves as a professor and doctoral supervisor. His research focuses on the design and development of functional nanomaterials for environmental applications, and he has published over 60 SCI papers.

Prof. Chunyang Chen

Lanzhou University 


Prof. Chunyang Chen obtained his Ph.D. degree from Lanzhou University in 2018. From 2018 to 2022, he worked at the School of Resources and Environmental Sciences, Lanzhou University. In 2022, he joined the faculty of Suzhou University of Science and Technology. His research interests focus on fluorescent sensing for environmental pollutants, automated environmental monitoring equipment, and environmental monitoring data fusion algorithms. Prof. Chen has served as the PI for one project funded by NSFC, one by the Natural Science Foundation of Gansu Province, and one sub-project of the National Key Research and Development Program, alongside several industrial R&D projects. He has published over 40 SCI-indexed papers, holds 4 authorized patents, and has an h-index of 21. As the primary contributor, he has received honors such as the Young Elite Scientists Sponsorship Program of Jiangsu Province and the Second Prize in Natural Science from the Jiangsu Association for Instrumental Analysis.
